A tour guide in North China had his heart in his mouth in the moment (above) he slipped and fell on a glass walkway that suddenly “cracked” because of his fall. The video was captured on the bridge that spans a length of 266 metres, at an altitude of over 3,800 feet, in the mountains of North China, with a direct view of the drop.
The “crack” appeared because of a quirky effect that the East Taihang district administration has created on a part of the bridge. An infrared sensor has been installed near the end of the walkway to detect human movement and present the cracking effect on the glass.
It’s not real, but for a few panic-stricken moments, those on the walkway expect the glass to shatter and make them fall through it.
