The All India Football Federation’s League Committee on Friday ratified the format of the second division League which would be competed among 20 teams including 12 teams from various states and the 8 reserve teams from clubs playing in the Indian Super League.
As approved by the AIFF Executive Committee, the Committee was apprised about a decrease in the number of foreigners to be playing in the 2nd Division League. As per the regulations of the upcoming edition, clubs can register 3 foreigners including one player from Asian quota, out of which two can play on the field at any given time.
The League Committee meeting held at the AIFF Headquarters, the Football House in Dwarka and was attended by representatives from all participating I-League Clubs, FSDL and Star Sports as invitees.
