The upcoming Star Wars spin-off film will be titled Solo: A Star Wars Story, announced director Ron Howard on Twitter.
Confirming in a video announcement that production had been completed, Howard exclaimed: “Can we even say the name of the movie?” Fan-favourite Wookiee Chewbacca then handed him a cue card, which revealed the title of the film.
The 2018 film will chronicle the Rebel Alliance fighter and legendary captain of the Millennium Falcon Han Solo during his younger days. Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar) will play Solo, and will be joined by Donald Glover, Joonas Suotamo, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
Howard replaced original writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller earlier in June, when the duo was fired due to differences. The film will be released on May 25, 2018.
