A major fire gutted a building in west Delhi’s Mansarovar Garden on Monday, leading to the collapse of the entire complex, PTI reported. No casualties were reported in the blaze, but goods in shops situated in the building were damaged.
The four-storey building housed a semi-mall. The fire broke out in the ground floor of the building and then spread to the other floors, IANS reported.
Thirty fire tenders were rushed to control the blaze, however, it took more than two hours for the firefighters to control bring the fire under control. Weakened by the heat, the building collapsed, an unidentified official told PTI.
The cause of the fire was not determined, but the police said a short circuit is believed to be behind the incident.
