A constable was killed and a policeman injured during a militant attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday. Constable-driver Khurshid Ahmad was killed and another policeman injured when militants opened fire on their vehicle in Damhal Hanjipora, police said.
“The area has been cordoned off and security force reinforcements deployed to the spot,” police said.
The incident follows an encounter in Litter village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district that occurred earlier on Saturday. Two militants and one civilian were killed during the attack. A civilian was injured during the crossfire, Inspector General (Jammu and Kashmir) Munir Khan said.
