Several locals beat an officer of the Jammu and Kashmir police on Saturday for for allegedly taking photos of a woman without her permission in Ganderbal district. The policeman was arrested after the incident and a First Information Report has been registered, Senior Superintendent of Police (Ganderbal) Fayaz Ahmed Lone said.

A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. In the video, a woman accuses the policeman of taking photos of her without permission while she helps a mob tie him to a chair placed in the middle of the street. The video shows the mob beating the police official while others cheered and watched.
