The Supreme Court on Friday sought the response of the owners of Ryan International School on a plea to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to them by the Punjab and Haryana High Court, PTI reported. The case relates to the murder of a seven-year-old boy at the Gurugram branch of the school on September 8. The plea was filed by the boy’s father.
The Supreme Court bench, headed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, issued a notice to Ryan International Group Chief Executive Officer Ryan Pinto and his parents – founding chairman Augustine Pinto and Managing Director Grace Pinto. It also asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to file its response on the plea.
The matter will be heard next on October 30.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court had on September 28 stayed the arrest of the owners of the Ryan Group of Institutions. On October 7, it extended the interim protection from arrest given to the owners till December 5. Their anticipatory bail was extended on the condition that they cooperate with the investigation, and do not leave the country.
