In an effort to ensure more transparency in the appointment of judges, the decisions of the body responsible for the process will be made public on the website of the Supreme Court of India.

The website added a new tab, called “Collegium Resolutions,” on Friday. Four documents have been uploaded. Besides the resolution to make the collegium’s deliberations public, its recommendations on appointments to the Kerala High Court and Madras High Court have also been uploaded.

A resolution passed by Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra, and Justices Chelameswar, Ranjan Gogoi, Madan B Lokur and Kurian Joseph said that the collegium had resolved that the “decisions henceforth taken by the Collegium shall be put on the website of the Supreme Court, when the recommendation(s) is/are sent to the Government of India”.
