A blast at a shrine in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Thursday killed 18 people and wounded dozens, the Dawn reported. The medical superintendent of Gandawah hospital confirmed the toll, and said that 18 among the 24 injured people brought to the District Headquarters Hospital Gandawah were shifted to Quetta and Larkana.
The explosion took place at the entrance of the shrine in Jhal Magsi district of central Balochistan. The attacker detonated himself when police personnel opened fire as he tried to barge inside the main shrine, a police official said.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
