Three college students were run over by a train as they were taking selfies on a railway track near Bengaluru on Tuesday.
The men were taking selfies on a railway bridge when the Mysore-Sholapur Gol Gumbaz Express hit them, the police told AFP. “We found their mutilated bodies on the track, and investigations have been taken up,” a local railway police officer was quoted as saying.
Earlier this year, a study showed that India accounted for as much as 60% of all selfie-related deaths in the world between March 2014 and September 2016.
