Men suspected of being Communist Party of India (Marxist) workers attacked three Bharatiya Janata Party workers in Neeleswaram town in Kasargod district of Kerala on Monday, the police told PTI. The police said the three injured were being treated at a private hospital in Neeleswaram. No arrests have been made in the case so far.
The attack took place around 9.30 pm on Monday when BJP workers were decorating a part of the National Highway-66 for the 15-day Jan Raksha Yatra, launched by party president Amit Shah on Tuesday.
BJP Kasargod district secretary Sreekanth alleged that nearly 20 CPI(M) workers attacked party cadres without any provocation. He claimed that flex boards, tubelights and a two-wheeler were also damaged in the incident.
