Barun Sobti’s brooding business tycoon Arnav Singh Raizada in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon is easily one of the most popular characters on Indian television. Sobti, who has previously appeared in the movie Main aur Mr Riight (2014), is one of the main characters in Milind Dhaimade’s Tu Hai Mera Sunday. Sobti plays Arjun Anand, an easygoing marketing consultant who plays football with his gan every Sunda. The lives of the characters undergo a transformation when the football games are momentarily suspended and Arjun befriends an old man suffering from dementia and falls for his daughter Vinta ((Shahana Goswami). Tu Hai Mera Sunday will be released on October 6.
In a video interview, Sobti reveals his journey from the corporate world, where he worked as a call centre operator, to the limelight. “I always wanted to act deep down in my heart,” he said. “So I found out from few of my friends in the industry if there was any work. So I did an audition from back home and took a show from there and then came to Mumbai.”
