Spin legend Shane Warne believes that young Indian spin sensation Kuldeep Yadav could challenge Pakistan’s Yasir Shah as the best leg-spinner in world cricket. The young left-arm wrist spinner came into prominence in his debut Test match against Australia in Dharamsala earlier this year, PTI reported.
In the second One-day International against Australia at Kolkata, Yadav picked up a hat-trick, becoming only the third Indian to do so in 50-over cricket. Warne took to Twitter to laud the 22-year-old. “If young Kuldeep remains patient when he’s bowling in all forms then he could challenge Yasir as the best leg-spinner in the world and quickly,” Warne tweeted.
Warne, who had a brief session with the wrist-spinner during at Pune, earlier in the year (then coach Anil Kumble had arranged for an interaction) wrote that he was impressed with the Indian’s performances, “Was a pleasure to meet young Kuldeep when I was last in India. I really enjoy him bowl and cause confusion even against Oz (sic),” was another of Warne’s tweets.
