What started as an act of protest by former NFL player Colin Kaepernick to battle racial injustice has become a movement across the sport in USA after President Trump made this a personal issue. “If NFL fans refuse to go to games until players stop disrespecting our Flag & Country, you will see change take place fast. Fire or suspend!” Trump wrote on Twitter.
This was just the tip of the iceberg. He even picked a fight with NBA champions Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry, withdrawing the annual award-winning reception which takes place at the White House. Trump keeps insisting that this is not a race issue, but it most certainly comes off like it.
