For the second consecutive day, rain played spoilsport as day’s play was washed out between India Green and India Blue in the Duleep Trophy on Thursday. On Wednesday, day two was suspended due to rain.
On the opening day of the final round robin fixture of the tournament, India Green, who dismissed the Blue team for a paltry 177, had reached 100/3 at stumps.
Parvez Rasool bagged five wickets for 70 runs. Ishant Sharma, playing a first-class match after six months, ended with figures on 1/15. The match seems to be heading for a draw as India Green still trail India Blue by 77 runs with seven wickets in hand with just a day in hand.
