An Indian soldier was killed in an alleged ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in the Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday, PTI reported. Three other soldiers were injured, according to Deccan Herald.
The soldier succumbed to his injuries on the way to a hospital in Srinagar after Pakistani troops were reported to have opened fire at an Army patrol unit early Wednesday.
An Army official said that “necessary and adequate” response had been given to the “unprovoked firing” by Pakistani troops.
