The Border Security Force on Wednesday foiled a possible infiltration bid and killed two armed people in the process along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab. The incident took place in Amritsar’s Anjala sector, PTI reported.
Deputy Inspector General JS Oberio said they had shot dead two Pakistani intruders when they ignored warnings and kept marching aggressively towards the troops.
“When challenged by BSF troops, the infiltrators fired on the ambush line with automatic weapons,” a BSF spokesperson said. “Taking cover, the fire was appropriately retaliated, and infiltrators were neutralised near the border fence.”
The border security troopers said they had recovered an AK-47 assault rifle, a pistol, bullet rounds, a Pakistan Sim card, 4 kg of heroin and Pakistani currency worth Rs 20,000 from the duo.
