Ronnie Screwvala’s production company RSVP is set a produce a film on the “surgical strikes” conducted by the Indian army on the Line of Control in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on September 29, 2016. The film, titled Uri, will be directed by Aditya Dhar and will star Vicky Kaushal in the lead role.
Kaushal will be playing the commander-in-chief who led the mission to avenge the Uri attacks of September 18, which led to the death of 19 Indian soldiers. Kaushal is also starring in Meghna Gulzar’s espionage thriller Raazi, in which he plays a Pakistani soldier married to a Kashmiri woman (Alia Bhatt).
