The 2017 Alibaba Annual Party, celebrating the e-commerce giant’s 18th year, was kicked off by CEO Jack Ma with the theatrics that he is known for – he’s also sung The Lion King theme to his employees (video below). This year, he decided to pay homage to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson (video above). Jack Ma rode onto the stage on a black motorbike, with a mask, dressed in the black ensemble that Jackson wore on his Dangerous world tour.
He then broke into what was clearly a well-rehearsed dance, with an elaborate set design and lots of backup dancers, as he attempted the King of Pop’s famous pelvic thrusts and even wore MJ’s signature silver glove on one hand. The CEO grooved to Black or White and Billie Jean before he waving to his 40,000 employees and making a grand exit.
