The critical and commercial hit Arjun Reddy will get an extended director’s cut that will include scenes that were left out of the theatrical version, DNA reports.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Telugu movie is a Devdas riff in which the titular hero, played by Vijay Devarakonda, loses his bearings after heartbreak. “Unmindful of the length of the movie — three-hours-and-two-minutes — the film’s team has decided to restore some of the film’s edited footage into the narrative,” the newspaper reported.
Forty-odd minutes were excised from the theatrical version, and some of these will be restored for a planned director’s cut. “Believe me, every moment of what we shot was vital to the story,” Devarakonda told DNA. “Every frame that we left out was a bit of our life abandoned for the sake of a tighter narrative.”
There are rumours that the movie will be remade in other languages, including Hindi, with Ranveer Singh’s name being floated for the lead role.
