Hockey India on Monday began their search for a new full-time coach for the senior national team, issuing a job description for post with further plans of advertising for the post like the Board of Control for Cricket in India had done recently.
The Federation had sacked Roelant Oltmans and replaced him with High Performance director David John as the interim coach.
Aspirants will have to send in their applications to the Federation’s CEO by September 15.
“John is just interim coach and we will try to replace him soon. We will put out the advertisement for the post soon and shortlist coaches. Then we will consult Sports Authority of India and then make the selection,” Harbinder Singh, chairman of India’s selection committee had told TheField.
“The Chief Coach will be responsible for leading the national senior men team for the Olympic Qualification 2018, with a view to achieving success at World Level Hockey and Olympic Games. In addition, the Chief Coach will need to oversee the development and preparations of the national junior men team during the term,” Hockey India stated.
