The price of subsidised liquified petroleum gas used for cooking has been increased by Rs 7 as of September 1. A subsidised 14.2-kg cylinder in Delhi will cost Rs 487.18, PTI reported citing the Indian Oil Corporation.
The price of aviation turbine fuel has also been hiked by 4%, the report added. This comes after a 2.3% increase that had been effected from August 1.
Oil and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan had asked oil companies to raise the price of LPG by Rs 4 every month to remove all subsidies by next March. This is the fourth hike since May this year. Public sector firms revise LPG and aviation fuel prices on the 1st of every month according to global prices and the foreign exchange rate.
