A five-storey building in Old Delhi’s Sadar Bazar locality collapsed on Friday, leaving two people injured, India Today reported. Eight fire tenders are at the spot for rescue operations.
The building was located in Sadar Bazar’s Paan Mandi area. “The ground floor of the building had a couple of shops, and the other floors were used to store merchandise,” an unidentified police official told The Times of India.
This comes hours after two people died in East Delhi after the Ghazipur landfill collapsed. Several others are fear trapped under the rubbish. Four or five vehicles fell into the nearby Kondli Canal as the garbage dump caved in.
