Several singers have tried, and failed, to match the intensity and soul of Kailash Kher’s voice. The Sufi singer’s voice is considered incomparable.
But now, an engineering student from Panjgur, a district in the west Balochistan province of Pakistan, may be giving him a run for his money.
Shoaib Ahmed Bugti’s cover (above) of Kher’s most famous song, Teri Deewani, is nearly as striking as the original rendition. There is undeniable power and soul in his vocals, and he hits the notes in all the right places.
The student from Balochistan University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) recorded this video in 2013, but it went viral again on twitter on Monday, with Kher himself retweeting the video.
