Whether it’s sitting at the reception and answering the phone, or giving company to a resident who is waiting for a ride, Oreo the cat is up for any task. She used to live outside a nursing home in Cleveland, USA, but the employees eventually took her in. In the video (above), Carmen Delgado, an employee at the St. Augustine Health Ministries, talks about Oreo: “She’s like a family here, she helps the residents. She helps the employees, and we just love her.”
Patients come out and pet the cat whenever they like, and having Oreo around gives them a feeling of normalcy and familiarity.
