Coke Studio tracks tend to have an offbeat, experimental quality that probably explain their popularity among a certain set of music lovers. Pakistani musician Assad tried to break down the formula in a video (above), set to the tune of Pakistan’s national anthem Pak Sarzamin.
The lyrics hilariously oversimplify what it takes to compose and produce a Coke Studio song. Assad’s recipe is simple – take an old song, add a spoonful of guitar chords and a dash of flute. If the flute melody doesn’t do the trick, sprinkle a violin symphony, and add a guitar solo. Watch the video to know what else goes into the making of a Coke Studio hit.
