On Wednesday, Polish cyclist Pawel Poljanski sent the internet into a meltdown when he shared a picture of his bulging veins after competition of 16 days in the ongoing Tour de France. The 2200-mile race indeed takes a physical toil on a cyclist’s body and Poljanski’s picture portrayed the perfect picture of the after-effects of the race.
“After sixteen stages I think my legs look little tired,” he wrote in the post on Instagram. The rider for German team Bora-Hansgrohe is currently 75th in the general classification.
The comments section of the photo had fans write messages such as:
- “That’s not normal”
- “It looks really bad”
- “Disgusting! The damage that your body goes through - not healthy!”
Just goes to show the effects the race has on an athlete’s body.
