Paytm Mall has delisted 85,000 sellers to an effort to ensure quality control, reported The Times of India. Digital wallet firm Paytm, which runs the mall, has made it mandatory for sellers to furnish brand authorisation letters.
“The sellers will undergo strict quality and service audits that will include their registration number, location of the commercial establishment, shop photos and goods and services tax identification number, among other things, to list products on the platform,” said the company, according to Business Standard. “These criterion blocks fraudulent merchants from signing up and creating a bad customer experience on the platform.”
Besides, brands and shopkeepers will be allowed to set the return, exchange and refund policies for their products. “We will work closely with existing sellers and continue onboarding further,” Paytm Mall Chief Operating Officer Amit Sinha told Business Standard.
