Restrictions imposed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar entered its third day, as clashes between security personnel and civilians continued in Narbal, Anantnag and Pulwama. The police arrested 14 youth on Friday. “At least ten youth and four policemen sustained injuries in the clashes,” an eyewitness told Greater Kashmir.

The state government enforced curbs in areas falling under the jurisdiction of six police stations in Downtown Srinagar. The violence began in Narbal chowk after Friday prayers.

Friday prayers were not allowed at the Jamia Masjid for the fourth straight consecutive week. Government forces kept all its gates locked and cordoned off all roads leading to it.

There were reports of protests in Srinagar’s Soura and Hydepora localities, as well. There was a shutdown in Pulwama in protest against a man sustained a bullet injury to his leg, allegedly during firing by government forces on Thursday.
