Torrential rains in Assam have inundated large parts of the Kaziranga National Park, leaving animals struggling to find shelter. So far, three rare one-horned rhinoceroses and six hog deer have died.
The floods in the North East has claimed at least 83 lives so far. The deluge at Kaziranga was caused by an overflowing Brahmaputra river. Authorities are trying to move the marooned animals to safer places.
