India’s wholesale price inflation eased to 0.9% in June, Reuters reported quoting official data on Friday. In May, the inflation rate was 2.17%.
Wholesale food prices fell 1.25% in June, compared with a 0.15% rise in May. Economists have forecast 1.60% annual gain in wholesale prices.
India’s annual retail inflation eased to 1.54% in June, the slowest in five years. The Reserve Bank of India is set to decide on interest rates following the retail inflation figures, at a policy review meeting on August 2.
