Unidentified individuals desecrated two more crosses in South Goa’s Loutolim village on Thursday, PTI reported quoting a police official. Police suspect that one of the crosses was desecrated by 4 am on Thursday, because a bread seller who passed by the spot earlier said it was intact.
The two desecrated crosses were located at a distance of around three kilometres from each other, said inspector Harish Madkaikar of Maina-Curtorim police station. A team of police officials is investigating the matter, Madkaikar said.
On July 10, around 40 crosses were vandalised in Curchorem’s Guardian Angel Cemetery in South Goa. Police had said at least 11 crosses and a temple were desecrated by vandals before the cemetery incident, since July 1 in South Goa.
