The Supreme Court-constituted Committee of Administrators on Sunday called on the Supreme Court to create a steering committee for the formation of a players association in its fourth status report into the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s affairs, reported PTI on Wednesday.
As per the report, the COA called for former Indian captain Kapil Dev to be made part of that committee along with veterans Anshuman Gaekwad and Bharath Reddy.
The news comes a few days after Dev tweeted on Saturday that he was currently not looking forward to any post with the BCCI or the Haryana Cricket Association.
The CoA also recommended an ultimatum to be given to the state and member associations to be amend their constitutions to adopt the Lodha reforms before December 31, reported Times of India. The report also added that the board needed to look into the respective electoral rolls of each association affiliated to the board prior to elections to ensure voting process.
