Indian athletes continued their good run at the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships, winning four gold medals so far on a rain-hit second day of the competition in Bhubaneshwar, while sprinter Dutee Chand returned with a bronze in the 100m final. Tejinder Pal Singh won silver in men’s shot put as well.
Mohammad Anas (400m), Nirmala Sheoran (400m), PU Chitra (1500m) and Ajay Kumar Saroj (1500m) were the gold medallists.
Indian quartermilers – both in men’s and women’s section – sensationally grabbed a gold medal each in the space of less than five minutes to consolidate the host country’s lead on day two.
Nirmala Sheoran clinched gold in women’s 400m, while Mohammed Anas grabbed the gold in men’s 400m.

Arokia Rajiv and Jisna Mathew won the silver and bronze respectively as well.

Tejinder, with a best throw of 19.77m, finished second in the shot put final.
On day one, India bagged as many as seven medals, including two golds, to sit atop the medal tally.
