In Baahubali director SS Rajamouli’s Eega (2012), a house fly did the hero’s work. Nani played the man who is transformed into an insect in the box office hit. Nani will now produce and star in a movie in which a fish is the protagonist. Shooting for the “high-concept” Telugu film has already begun, according to a report in The Times of India.
The movie’s writer and director, debutant Prashant Sharma, approached Nani with the script, and he immediately agreed to produce and star in the project, said the newspaper report.
Nani’s film is not the first project with an animal as a protagonist following Eega’s massive success. Last year, Telugu actor and director Ravi Babu announced a project called Adhugo with a piglet in the central role. There have been no updates since on the movie’s progress.
