The Delhi High Court on Monday launched a first-of-its-kind dedicated helpline, IANS reported. Those seeking information on subjects related to the court can contact 1888.
The four-digit helpline was launched to provide easy access to justice to litigants, said Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal, who launched the number at a function in the court complex.
The helpline is aimed at allowing litigants to make reservations in advance for a facility – they can call the number or send an SMS. Wheelchair assistance for differently-abled litigants for access within the court premises will also be provided from now on. An email facility, too, has been introduced to make a reservation for the assistance.
The helpline can be called for information on cases listed and filed, as well as for information parties may seek after verification of their cases.
The Ministry of Communication allotted the 1888 number to the High Court.
