India beat Kyrgyzstan 1-0 to win their AFC Asian Cup qualifier, thanks to an absolute stunner of a goal by captain Sunil Chhetri. This was India’s seventh official international match win on the trot.
Chhetri and Jeje Lalpekhlua combined to give India the crucial goal in the 69th minute as the captain calmly slotted in the ball past the Kyrgyzstan goalkeeper after running in from the opposition’s box. It’s the kind of goal you have have to see to believe.
Chhetri’s spectacular strike drew praise from all over social media as football fans in India celebrated the win.
