The highly awaited seventh season of the HBO show Game of Thrones has dropped some images to satisfy fans until the premiere in July. The series will be aired on Star World and Star World HD in India on July 18 at 10pm.
The penultimate season will consist of seven episodes, which will leave the show’s creators plenty of time to plan for the season finale, whose date has not been announced. Kit Harington (Jon Snow), Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister), Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister), Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Maisie Williams (Arya Stark), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Yara Greyjoy (Gemma Whelan) and Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) are among the actors who will return for the new season. The content of the episodes remains a closely guarded secret, but they will include fresh material. There are unconfirmed rumours that George RR Martin’s incomplete novels have inspired some of the events.
At the end of the last season, Jon Snow found out the truth of his parentage, Cersei Lannister ascended the Iron Throne and Daenerys Targaryen sailed towards Westeros. Among the characters who perished in the season were Ramsay Bolton, High Sparrow, the Three-Eyed Raven, Margaery Tyrell, Hodor, Asha and Balon Greyjoy, Roose Bolton, The Waif, Rickon Stark, Wun-Wun, Walder Frey and Tommen Baratheon.
The locations for the seventh season include Northern Ireland, Spain, Iceland and Canada. Some of the new actors include Jim Broadbent, Tom Hopper, Joseph Quinn and Paul Ward.
Meanwhile, Martin, whose bestsellers inspired the series, hasn’t yet completed The Winds of Winter, the sixth novel in the series A Song of Ice and Fire.
