Rohan Bopanna and his Canadian partner Gabriela Dabrowski advanced into the second round at the French Open on Thursday routing their Australian opponents Jessica Moore and Matt Reid 6-0, 6-1 in 39 minutes.

The Indo-Canadian pair, seeded seventh in the draw, were in absolute command of the match and secured five breaks of serve – three in the opening set and two in the second – to get the win. Putting in 71% of their first serves, Bopanna and Dabrowski converted 74% points off these, while their opponents could convert only 43% of their first serves after putting 62% of their first serves in.

They also won 73% points off their second serves to their unseeded opponents’ winning 43% off their second serves. Neither team made any inroads towards the net, and while Bopanna and Dabrowski finished the match with a total of 49 points, their opponents ended up scoring 26 points.

In the second round, Bopanna and Dabrowski await the winner between the French team of Chloe Paquet and Benoit Paire, and the Chinese-French team of Yifan Xu and Fabrice Martin.
