Indian gymnasts Pranati Nayak and Aruna Reddy finished fourth and sixth respectively in the Vault final at the Asian Gymnastics Championships in Bangkok on Saturday.
Nayak finished fourth with a score of 13.300 and Reddy finished sixth with a score of 12.825. Rakesh Patra finished in eighth place in the Rings final.
Minara Begum, Nayak’s coach was happy at the fourth-place finish but rued that it was an opportunity lost to take a medal. “It was a good performance from Pranati. But we could have won the medal. We are a little disappointed that we could not,” she told Scroll from Bangkok.
Nayak will also be in action in the Balance Beam final. In the team women’s event, India finished at sixth place.
