Militants snatched the service rifles of five policemen guarding the district court complex in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir late on Tuesday night, PTI reported. A group of rebels sneaked into the premises of the court complex and overpowered the five policemen on duty, an official was quoted as saying by the news agency.
He added that the militants snatched the Self-Loading Rifles of the policemen before leaving the place. No one was injured in the incident.
Militants had also snatched the service rifles of policemen while making off with a cash-loaded bank vehicle in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Monday, Five police personnel and two bank officials were killed in the incident.
