WhatsApp Android users may soon be able to pin up to three chats on top of their list. The new feature is available only on the app’s beta version at present and is aimed at helping users organise their chat lists.
Contacts can be pinned by long-pressing a message and choosing the ‘pin’ option, which appears along with delete, mute and archive. The chats can be unpinned the same way. Once a message has been pinned, it remains on top of the screen irrespective of other WhatsApp messages that come in.
Users can sign up for the beta version of WhatsApp by uninstalling the app and joining the beta programme on Google Playstore. The sign-up takes a few minutes. Once it is done, the beta version of the app can be downloaded again.
