There are policemen and then there are policemen who can salsa. Leslie Sapp of San Antonio, Texas, USA, who was hosting an NXG Dance Crew event in her backyard, had a brush with the second variety recently when a neighbour called the police complaining about loud music.

An officer of the San Antonio Police Department turned up, but only to join the participants. As the music gathered pace, several others joined the policeman, who twirled effortlessly across the yard. Only his outfit, one might say, looked a tad out of place. And judging by the cheers and applause in the video, the officer well and truly
swept the popularity stakes.

“Instead of shutting it down or even interrupting, the officer asked to play a song and then his song came on, and well, the video speaks for itself,” Sapp, whose daughter Jaelie partnered the officer towards the end of the video, told television station KSAT.

Sapp put up the video on Facebook, urging her friends to share it widely. By the likes of it, people heard her loud and clear.
