Security forces foiled an attempt by militants to rob a bank in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. They managed to arrest one of the rebels as well, PTI reported.
Two armed men entered a branch of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Mehandi Kadal in the district on Friday afternoon and opened fire, an identified police officer told the news agency. He added that a CRPF head constable sustained bullet injuries in his right hand during the gun battle.
While one of the militants escaped, the other was caught. The arrested militant has been identified as one Muneeb Ahmad Malla, a resident of Reshipora in Shopian district.
