Bollywood legend Vinod Khanna died on April 27 at 11.20 am in Mumbai. The actor, producer and Member of Parliament from Gurdaspur was 70, and had been ailing from bladder carcinoma for the past few months. The premiere of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which was scheduled to take place in Mumbai on the evening of April 27, was cancelled after the news broke out.
Actor and co-star Rishi Kapoor remembered Khanna as one of the three brothers in Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), the Manmohan Desai comedy.
Tributes were paid by Khanna’s fellow travellers in the ’70s and ’80s as well as by personalities who were fans of his brooding personality and acting talent. The Bharatiya Janata Party, of which Khanna was a member and which he represented in Parliament, also doffed its hat.
Actress and producer Richa Chadha nailed it in her tweet.
