Indian Grandmaster Harika Dronavalli continued her winning streak as she beat Tuvshintugs Batchimeg in the seventh round of the Reykjavik Open. Though the World No.11 Indian was up against a lower-ranked International Master from Mongolia, she had to work really hard to eke out a victory, reported PTI.
“My opponent made a small mistake in the opening phase of the game which made it easier for me,” said Harika. “Even though she made a mistake, I had to convert it very accurately and won after a five-hour long strategic battle,” she added. Harika now has five wins, one draw and a loss for a total of five and half points in the tournament.
The 26-year-old will take on Turkish Grandmaster Mustafa Yilmaz in her next round battle.
