Madhya Pradesh left-hander Harpreet Singh Bhatia has been roped in by Royal Challengers Bangalore as a replacement for injured Sarfaraz Khan for the remainder of the of Indian Premier League, reported PTI.
Harpreet has earlier played in the IPL for the now-defunct Pune Warriors. The 25-year-old has represented India under-19s in the past and had a consistent run in the domestic limited-overs competitions for Madhya Pradesh, finishing as the leading run-scorer of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Inter-Zonal tournament for Central Zone in 2016-’17.
Just days ago, Khan sparked off speculations of making a comeback to the IPL after taking to Instagram to announce that he would make a comeback to the RCB setup with a photo of his bandaged knee. Royal Challengers Bangalore’s next encounter is against the Kolkata Knight Riders on April 23 at Kolkata.
