India’s challenge at the China Grand Prix Gold in Changzhou came to an end on Thursday after both Parupalli Kashyap and Harsheel Dani were defeated in the third round of the men’s singles draw.
After a heavy 10-21 loss in the first game to third seed and World No 23 Qiao Bin, Kashyap made a comeback to win the second game 22-20 but lost in the third game 21-13. This tournament marked Kashyap’s return from a knee injury.
Harsheel Dani was also eliminated in straight games 17-21, 18-21 by Sun Feixiang to bring an end to his campaign.
