Sunrisers Hyderabad rode on flamboyant 136-run partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson to set a commanding target of 192 against Delhi Daredevils in Hyderabad on Sunday. Despite some cameos, Delhi Daredevils couldn’t make the final push and lost by 15 runs.
Here are some statistics that you should know from the game:
- David Warner was dismissed for just four runs. It was his first single-digit score after 18 innings in the IPL. This was also only the second time Hyderabad had won a match after Warner scored less than 10.
- Shikhar Dhawan and Kane Williamson combined to put together a 136-run partnership for the first wicket. It was Sunrisers’ first century partnership without involving Warner.
- In the course of Shikhar Dhawan’s 70, he became the second batsman after Warner to score 1000-plus runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
- Delhi’s Chris Morris took all the four wickets that fell in Hyderabad’s innings. This is only the second time it has happened in the IPL.
- Yuvraj Singh played his 200th Twenty20 match.
- Rishabh Pant went wicketless for the first time in the IPL. It was also only the sixth time in his 39-match Twenty20 career.
- In the course of his 89, Kane Williamson struck five sixes. It’s only the second time that he has struck as many sixes in a Twenty20 innings. Williamson struck five sixes against Cape Cobras as well at the Champions League Twenty20 in 2014.
