Royal Challengers Bangalore’s AB de Villiers has ruled himself out of his side’s clash against Gujarat Lions later on Tuesday, reported Hindustan Times.
The report cited a post from the South African batsman on social media platform Twitter, however de Villiers has since deleted the tweet.
RCB have been struggling through injuries so far this season and sit at the bottom of the table with four losses in five games.
De Villiers came into the tournament with a back strain and had missed the team’s opening game. He had smashed a brilliant 89 not out in his first match.
Skipper Virat Kohli had missed the start of the season, while recovering from a shoulder injury picked up while fielding in the recently-concluded India vs Australia Test series. India batsman KL Rahul was ruled out of the tournament with a shoulder injury as well. Youngster Sarfaraz Khan had injured his leg days before team’s opening game and has since undergone a surgery.
